The flowers are edible too. Pretty pink and taste like… chives 🙂
One of the first herbs to spring back to life in the balcony, it’s very rewarding to plant it once and have it forever. On the way to a friend’s house for pancakes last week (savory buckwheat pancakes for lunch), she texted last minute: “do you have chives?”. Yes we do!
edit: I recently found this recipe for chive flower vinegar. When they bloom again I will definitely test it!
