They look like tiny watermelons and taste like cucumber with a hint of lime. They are also very easy to grow.

From sprouting to the first leaves it can be a slow process, but after that they take off and grow quite fast, climbing up and making their grape-sized delicious fruit.

The tubers can also regrow the next year. I think my winter was too hard though and the tubers in the pots I left outside didn’t survive. This year I will dig them up and store inside in a cool, dry place, until I can replant next spring.

Besides eating them raw, I want to pickle some to preserve their taste and beauty a bit longer.
